So my week was a kind of normal week. So on Monday we had p day and we got the lamphiers (the senior mission couple in our area) wifi extender set up so they can get wifi in their trailer now. Then after we went out and tracked and saw some people. Tuesday we had zone confrence. It was good we got to see how the new Presidant and his wife were with missionary work and what they wanted us to focus on (they want us to focus on trackting and finding people and doing the work and they want us to focus on making sure we get in on time at night so we can have our personal time at night) then after zone we drove home and did more trackting and saw some people we had appointments with. Wednesday we would normally have district meeting but because we had zone conference we didn't so we spent most of the day tracting and seeing less active people. Thursday we did the same thing and I got the hat you sent me. I haven't got to where I yet because we've been going tracting after the sun is starting to set but I'll make sure to take a picture this week. And thank you for that. Friday same thing trackting and going to our appointments. We also helped deliver a fridge to a member that's less active and can't buy one so we helped take it there and  put it in. Her house was not very good she is a bit of a hoarder so we could barely get in and they have tons of cats so it smelled really bad. But she's a good person that just needs to change a few things in her life. Saturday was more tracting and visiting people. Sunday we had a pot luck which was awesome. We had more people there than we had in the past (we normally get in the low 40s attendance and yesterday we got 51 I think). It wasn't so fun after because we spent like and hour and a half washing dishes and cleaning up. Not everyone just us missionaries and a few like 5-8 members. So that wasn't fun. After that we went tracting for a bit and saw one or two people. The reason we have been tracting so much is because we had a lot of people drop us and we had to drop a lot of people so we have to go find new ones as best as we can but tracting isn't being very successful. But it was an ok week. Not really anything out of the ordinary. Hope everyone is doing well. I'd love to hear from you all. Love you so much.

The first picture is the Quote of the week and then

A huge storm moving into the valley
A good sunset on top of the mountain
mcminnvile zone with the new mission president and his wife the stones in the middle

This is a cruel joke for missionaries

This is why we don't have dragons and unicorns now
No offense to Nate but he totally did this
This is so what kids do these days
I'm pretty sure this is true for you mom

So this week has been a pretty normal one. So Monday we got our truck and I love having it we don't have to worry if we're gonna make it up this hill or scrape or any of that anymore. We still got to worry about miles because they only let us drive it 1200 a month but now we got 4 wheel drive. Tuesday was a normal day we we and gave service at a elderly members house and helped them pull weeds and apparently they had poison ivy in there but neither of got a rash or itched uncontrollably. I know my comp isn't allergic to it because he took a leaf and rubbed it on him arm really good and nothing happened I didn't do it but I'm sure I rubbed up against it a lot but I don't have a rash. Wednesday we had district meeting and this week the zone leaders "ZL" decided to have it in the oldest LDS building in the south. It's cool to see that we have been around long enough for the buildings to be one room all wood win wood slat benches and just a slightly raised stage with a few Windows and bell tower. It was hot in that room tho we were all dying. Then we came back and we went out with a member. This tIme was good with this particular member. Because we've been out with him 3 other times or maybe 4 and had not seen one person. But this time we saw 2 people which is awesome because we could tell he was getting discouraged. And it was a cool experience because he came out even though he was low on money and gas but as he went with us it turns out he had more gas than he thought. Little things that let us know we're supposed to be doing what we're doing. Thursday we went out with our ward mission leader at 10am. we weren't supposed to go with him till like 2 so it was weird he showed up so early but we went and we drove around seeing less active people for like 5-6 hours we drove so far we accidentally drove out of our area and mission. But we quickly turned around and went back to where we were supposed to be. Hen he gave us dinner and we went back to our apartment and tried to see some other people around us. Friday was our planning day so that took up most of the day so we tried to see some less active people. We went and saw this family that moved in in April but haven't come to church yet. They were very active members in their last ward. They both held callings but they came out here and haven't come to church once. We only knew about them because we were going and visiting less actives. We're trying to get them to come to church. Saturday we were supposed to go out with a member but he canceled on us because it stormed really hard and he wouldn't be able to get off work on time because he has to drive like 45 minutes to his work. So we ended up tracting the whole day and in the rain. We were both dead tired that night. Sunday was good we didn't get much done because we had church then we had the senior mission couple feed us then we went and tried to see some of our few instigators. This week we had to delete a lot of people and a lot of people dropped us so we have like 12 people in our area book total that's super low. But that's how it goes sometimes. Hope y'all are doing well. Love y'all

 P.S
I found out my head size it's 23 1/2 inches but you might want to get just slightly bigger so there's a little leeway or not I don't know your mom you know everything
I did get the package thank you so much
No new changes with the new president yet but I'll keep you posted

Weekly Quote

Tuesday, July 12, 2016

I just realized that I forgot to post Caden's letter from the 4th of July so here it is:
So this week has been a hard one. We ran out of miles on our
car so we have been walking a lot and biking. Then sense it's the 4th
weekend and stuff no one really wants to meet with us and we have to
listen to fireworks go off all night for the past 4 days. But there
are some good things that came out of this week. We found an inactive
family and we're going to try and get them to come to church. Our
numbers at church have gone up. Oh speaking of the church we can't
email there or use the wifi there for a while because it stopped
working and I found out the problem but I can't fix it because I don't
know the password so we have to wait for this one member to come back
from a trip that set it up. So we're emailing from McDonald's today.
At least we got food nearby. I also learned that we can wear hats in
our mission now so could you use MY money and buy the Indiana jones
style one (you can go to the missionary website and see what I'm
talking about) and if you can find one a bag that looks like his so I
can go full jones? That would be awesome. You don't have to get the
bag the hat would be just fine. and I'm super pumped for this weeks district meeting because
we're getting a different car well I should say truck. Because the car
we have is getting destroyed on all the back roads and mountain roads
we have to go on. So I'll show you pictures next week. And on Sunday I
got to be a part of 3 blessings. One baby blessing one for the sick
and one for comfort. It was a really good experience for me. I hope
everyone at home is doing good. Tell Tia I can't wait to have a sister
in law and tell her good luck for me. Don't worry I'll email pierce
and tell him happy late birthday. Love you all
I almost forgot. We came this -
close to having a gun pulled on us. We knocked on this door and the
guy answered and was acting weird hiding half behind the door and then
he saw it was us and he took his arm from behind the door and he had a
loaded revolver🔫 so he took it and uncocked the hammer and set it
down. So we almost got shot. That was fun. Oh and here is your weekly quote

"When Jesus said repent, he asked us to change our minds, knowledge,
spirit-even our breath."-elder Nelson

So this email will mostly be about my week. But some will be saying that's what I do every time. The only difference this week is because it's about all the bad stuff that happened to us this week. We have had the worst luck. First off the churches wifi went out (we later learned it's because salt lake didn't pay our internet bill) so it makes it hard for us to plan because we need the wifi to sync our iPads so we've had to walk to McDonald's to plan and it's hard to do it there because it's loud. Then a lot of our investigations dropped us. Then our car started to have problems and made a horrible squeeling noise (found out later it was a rock stuck in the brake calipers). Then we got stuck in the town the dealership was (because it was under warranty) which was 45 minutes driving away from our house and we were outside our mission so we couldn't do anything. Then after we got back home we went out with the branch president in a 78 jeep with no top. Then as soon as we started to go it started to rain. We delt win it. At least till the jeep broke down (we looked at it and it had nothing wrong and it would start for a second but then die it's like something was preventing it from starting). And so we got stuck at a tiny convenience store and as soon as the dead car rolled to a stop it started to rain harder. It was like a classic movie. We got soaked all the way through our clothes the only thing dry on us were our feet because we both had water proof shoes. And we were cold and wet the rest of the night. But our car is fixed a lot earlier than we thought it would be and we found 3 new investigators. So it's been a hard week but one thing I took out of all that bad was that I'm supposed to be here. If I wasn't supposed to be here right now Satan wouldn't be working this hard to stop the work. It's just making me realizing I need to be out more and more. So this email will be short but this is what I'll leave with you and this will be my weekly quote. "There will be times that your faith may be tried. There may be times that things will not go your way. There will be times that you'll want to quit because things aren't going well. But I'll tell you this and make you a promise. Anything that is trying to prevent you from doing the right thing or the work of the lord is satan trying to hinder you and make you give up. But I promise you if you work through it and give it all your effort and diligently try your hardest that you will find things will go your way and those troubles will be resolved. It may not be the way you think or want but they will"-Elder Neyman   I love you all and hope you all have a better week than we did

P.S
We got a new mission president this week. Our old President was president Anderson. Our new one is president stone. He's only in his 40's which is young for a mission president and he is still raising 4-5 kids. So he's got his work cut out for him
