CADEN WILL BE FACE-TIMING US AT 3:45 ON SUNDAY FOR ANYONE THAT WOULD LIKE TO COME SAY HI 😉😃

Tracting has been so so. Some people want to hear the message because
of Christmas but others say they are too busy with Christmas stuff to
hear us. So I don't know. I don't have the time window yet but I will
let you know by tonight what it is. No I did not get transferred. So
we're going to breakfast with a family and we got dinner with another
family. Besides that we don't know. Why did he get them taken out? And
why did he get surgery? What would she be called if they do get
married? My cousin in law? I was wondering what that last part was
until I read the end of it. That's pretty funny paycen. So this week
was normal. The only weird things were when it went from the high 20s
to 70 degrees in one night then back to the 20s and the next day
getting freezing rain and having our car frozen shut and having to
yank the doors open to break the ice. And giving 5 priesthood
blessings last night to a sick family. So it's been good. I can't wait
to open all the gifts you guys sent me. Thank you so much for them.
Love you all,
Elder Neyman

It sounds like you had a really fun trip. So this week has been weird. It's been in the low 40s or 30s all week till yesterday and today and shot up into the 50s which is weird for December. Then we got a flat tire and we've had a donut on our car for the past few days (we're getting the new one on today). Then we got the cops called on us twice this week. So things have been all over the place. There were some highlights. Like we got to go to a mission tour (pretty much zone meeting with half the mission they had to split it up into two days one for one half of the mission and the other day for the half I was in)Friday and have Elder Jörg Klebingat of the 70 come down and talk to us. It was really good. He told us we need to be masters of repentance before we can teach other people repentance. It was good. We were at the meeting from 8-4:30. We never saw the sun that day. We went in at dawn and came out after sunset. It was weird. Other than all of that it was a normal week. Lots of tracting in the rain. If you want details I'll give them but it will take a while. Hope all is well at home. Love you all. (This morning were at a members house having breakfast and hanging out for p day) and am I allowed to open my package now or do I have to wait till Christmas?

Here's a quote that was shared during the mission tour

Look up the talk that goes with this it is amazing. It's called Five Marks of the Divinity of Jesus Christ

Hey mom. Man I'm jealous right now. I want to go on a cruise! I'm glad that your having a fun tho. I loved the devotional. We got to see it too. Well after we rode 7 miles on our bikes in the 48 degree weather to a members house. But it was good. So this week has been tracting tracting and more tracting. It seems like that's all we did. It made it a little miserable when it has rained every time we go out and it's cold enough outside to see our breath. But you do what you got to do. We had interviews this week so that was good. The only funny I got that happened this week was when we were tracting yesterday and this guy opened and said you got any weed? We said no and he said I'm waiting for my drug dealer and shut the door. It was really weird. I'm really tired from walking so much. We've probably walked like 30 miles this week. Sorry I don't have much for you this week. I'll try to have some funny experiences this week. Love you all.

“You can make every decision in your life correctly if you can learn to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This you can do if you will discipline yourself to yield your own feelings to the promptings of the Spirit. Study your problems and prayerfully make a decision. Then take that decision and say to him, in a simple, honest supplication, ‘Father, I want to make the right decision. I want to do the right thing. This is what I think I should do; let me know if it is the right course.’ Doing this, you can get the burning in your bosom, if your decision is right. … When you learn to walk by the Spirit, you never need to make a mistake.”-President Marion G. We've been given sooooo much of food! When I got here there was hardly anything in the cupboards.

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

It was nice being able to have dinner with them. I don't think they had any weird traditions because it was normal food. They had a lot of pies tho. We didn't stay long because we went to three dinners that night. We were stuffed. My week was good. We gave a lot of service this week. We helped the food bank some more and helped an investigator move some stuff (he gave me a nice jacket because I didn't have an good medium jacket that's not too thin or too big). Then the food bank fed us after district meeting for helping them. Then I got sick. Your probably asking what I got sick with but I honestly can't tell you. It was a bunch of weird symptoms that made no sense. I got like 4 hours of sleep that night which wasn't fun. When we went trackting I was miserable. When we went to dinner the Hermanas were there too and they said I didn't look good and so did the person we were having dinner with so all 3 of them teamed up and mothered me. They gave me Tylenol and made me cinnamon tea. Then the hermanas went home and came back with melatonin and an vitamin c and an oil diffuser to help me. It was nice to know they cared about me and were willing to help. Then the past two days have been finding potential investigators and biking like10-12 miles every day because hey only give us so many miles to drive in the car a month. It's been getting cold too. I had to break out my heavy winter jacket I traded with another missionary for. That's pretty much our week. We have been trackting every day so it's just been a lot of people saying they aren't interested. We've been showing people the video #LIGHT the WORLD it's a really good Christmas video. You should check it out and share it. That's our week summed up. Hope y'all had a good week. Love you

Hey mom. Things are going good. Yes I got my new card. Thank you. I do
have some (Pokémon cards) at home but they are packed away in my boxes you'd have to
dig to the bottom to find them. I'm doing good. Just going with the
ups and downs of the work. So this will be pretty short because we
have to email off the cars wifi because our neighbors that we use is
out. I write stories when I get them. And we had some this week
we just don't got a lot of time because we have to keep the car
running to get wifi so I don't want to waste a bunch of gas just
sitting out here but I will write them up this Sunday and send them
next Monday. Does that sound good? And I'm sorry I haven't wrote much.
I do want to write more but I don't know what to write because it all seems
boring. Hey let jer know he can email me and tell him sorry
if I seem ungrateful for his emails I really like them
Love you,

I got this from Caden's mission president so hopefully if any of you were wanting to send him something you'll be able to do that by December 5.  We can't thank you all enough for all of your love and support of Caden!

Dear parents of our Tennessee Nashville Missionaries,

Christmas is a special season for missionaries.  We have many unique opportunities to testify of our Savior Jesus Christ
.
We encourage families and friends to remember their missionaries at Christmas time.

Due to missionary transfers occurring the first half of December many missionary mailing addresses will change.

In order to ensure that your missionary receives the Christmas packages and mail that you send,
send them to the mission office,  not to individual missionary apartments.

The mission office address is:

To guarantee that your missionary will receive the Christmas packages and mail please send them to arrive at the mission office no later than Tuesday, December 5th.

Thank you for supporting your missionary.

Hey mom. That's crazy (about our stake splitting again).
I didn't think we would have one so soon. Our
church is at 9 but at the beginning of the year it will be at 1. Yea
I've been to the temple 1 time out here. They have a bit of a squat
cookie cutter one that feels a bit smaller than the st. George one.
Don't worry I'll talk to him (talk to Nate about not dating just one
girl before you leave on a mission). Yea there are a lot more places to eat
and shop here. Which is a good thing because the chain broke on my
bike and I need to get a new one at Walmart. Things are good with him
(his new companion) (you spell it poppe). He's a bit awkward but I think
it's because he's only been out 5 months and is a district leader.
The work is kind of slow because we only have like 4 people we're teaching so it's a lot of knocking and talking to people. There's been a lot of opposition lately. Like the day my bike broke (Friday) we ran into so many people that wanted nothing to do with us. Kept telling is the Book of Mormon is false or we don't need it. Joseph smith was a false prophet. The person with that sign. Almost getting hit by a truck because my bike chain broke. So.... but joe is doing well learning more and more about the church. He's been a catholic for like 50 years so he knows christ well. The lady with the baptism date hasn't been able to meet with us after that first visit so we have to cancel her date till we can meet with her again and get her to church.
We have a dispute of who wants to feed us thanksgiving so we'll find
out. And here are some pics.
Love you
Elder Neyman

Hey mom. Oh to answer paycens question there is 24 z's. 25 if you include the one to ask how many are there. So this week has been pretty good. So Monday we didn't do a lot because we had to be in early for Halloween. But we did get to go disk golfing. Tuesday was just a normal day. Wednesday we had district meeting and one of the sisters is going home so we had a funeral for her. (Its called killing a person off when they go home so we have a funeral sense they are dead) then the district went to lunch with a member. Thursday was a cool day. So we had to retire our car (no not because we crashed it) they retire them once they reach 50,000 miles because that's when they start having problems. And they gave us a brand new 2017 chevy Malibu. It's really cool. It's got so much technology in it. It has lane assist so if you start drifting on the line it will actually correct you and steer away from it. It's keyless. You can start the car from the key and let it heat up or cool down. You don't need to press the unlock button to get into the car. You just need to have the key in your pocket and press the button on the door and it will unlock. And to top it off it has built in wifi. Which is crazy. No the church dosent pay for it. So when the trial data runs out no more wifi. So it's been a lot of fun trying to figure it out. Nothing special happened on Friday. Saturday. We got transfer calls and McClain is leaving to Kentucky and I'm getting an elder poppy? I think is how you spell his name. I don't know anything about him so I'll have to let you know next week. And he's the new district leader not me. Then yesterday everyone was saying bye to McClain. Today he is going to pack up and they are having a kinda farewell party for him tonight so that will be fun. It's crazy to think I have a sister in law now and pierce is married. It's so bizarre. You'll have to send me pictures of the house they are thinking about getting. Love y'all.

Hey mom. So to answer your first question. We are going to work like normal till 1 then Presidant wants us to stay in the rest of the night and have our p day then. So I our p day will be from 1-9. My tick bite is pretty much gone now. Still itches a bit but it's just about healed over completely. Man it's crazy to think pierce will be married this week. This week nothing really crazy happened. A few highlights is that we got a baptism date with a lady that had been taking the lessons before but stopped. We ran into this 14 year old that knew almost as much about the Bible as I did and wants us to come back. We had a Halloween party on Saturday. We got to judge chili and some were way hot! Then yesterday we got to carve another pumpkin this one just had USA on it. We also got to eat tin foil dinners cooked in a fire. It was good to have because I haven't had that in a very long time. We also got to hit some baseballs in their huge field which was way fun. Then we played apples to apples and spoons. It was a fun time. Sorry I don't have much this week. Love you all.

Hey mom. So this week has been pretty good. Before i get into that ill tell you that i got to give a talk yesterday. It was on knowledge. It was a little hard to do because there's not much on knowledge because most people skip over it in the christ like attributes. And because I got a 2 day notice. But people kept telling me i did good. I hope they arent saying that because they feel bad at my terrible talk. So our week was a bit weird. On tuesday we got to help our neighbor (one that were trying to get back to church) fix his car. So the engine blew on it and he had a new one so we were helping him to pull our the old one. We didnt get to finish because we didnt have enough time. Then on Wednesday we had to do a really long hard bike ride up hill both ways (i was dying). Then we ran into a guy who heard that we believe that heaven is on a super distant star and some other weird stuff that we have never heard anyone say. He liked what we were saying and was asking questions that actually tied into what were going to say next. Then his girlfriend/wife? Showed up and said your wasting your time hes not interested. So were probably going to try him again sometime to see. Thursday we knocked into a Lutheran and had a good conversation with him. He said that the book of mormon was a fraud and other stuff. It was kind of funny because he didnt have alot of his facts straight but didnt give a chance to correct him so we quietly laughed to ourselves. He gave us a book on martin luthers (the guy who founded the lutheran church) commentary on galatians. Still deciding if i want to read it. Then later that night we talked with some church of christ people who wanted to know what we believe and go over the bible. (This was our second time meeting with them) we talked and tried to show them things in the bible that support the church but they kept saying thats our interpretation and they twisted it to suit their church. We tried to show them about authority like how jesus went all the way to john the baptist to get baptized but if their church is true he wouldn't have needed to do that and anyone male or female could have baptized him. But they want to talk again sometime so well see how that goes. (And no we weren't bashing we were discussing and learning about each others church) oh and earlier that day we had a black guy come swearing at us in our car saying you@#$@#$#$@$@# white people over and over (and by the yellow of his eyes i think he was high). Friday we helped tod (a guy that we helped move in a few weeks ago) go to the store to get some stuff from home depot and lowes. Then we helped him install some ceiling fans. After that we went to the penrods house for dinner with the sisters and hirmanas. After we ate we had a pumpkin carving competition. I don't know who won. I guess it was a three way tie. Then i brought over my pokemon cards that someone gave me out here and traded with one of their sons who i think is like 8/9? I gave him like 22 cards for 2 of his and taught him more about it. (He wrote me a note and gave it to me on sunday I'll take a picture of it) saturday we went to help tod again and install another fan and do mic work. Then he wanted us to drive his car with a trailer to go get something from his storage and mcclain couldn't say no so when he want to go start the car it wouldn't start. (Thats a miracle i saw this week because were not allowed to drive other people's cars) so we said we have to go. We ate dinner at a members house that night that lives down the road from tod. It was almost a thanksgiving dinner. We had turkey rolls mashed potatoes and gravy and it was cold outside. If there was football on it would have been thanksgiving.  Then i gave my talk sunday. After we had a member drive us to their neighborhood and fed us lunch then we tried to see some of their neighbors. We talked to this guy named ernie. Who believes everything we teach him besides joseph smith being a prophet. He thinks the others are just not joseph. So now we know what to talk to him about (we only figured out the joseph thing because we basically went through the baptismal interview questions to see where he was with things). Then we went next door and had dinner and went home. So a pretty full weird week (told you id write more this week). Hope everything is going good at home. Love you all

I received this picture from a Sis Wright, a  member who's family was feeding Caden and his companion last Friday night. It was great to see a picture of him (it's been a while since he's sent pictures) and great to know he is being cared for out there by members of his new ward!
Here's his letter from his week:
Hey mom. So things are going good here. This last week was a lot of service and dinners. And a lot of our plans this week canceled on us. That always makes it hard because then we don't know what to do. It was fun at the wrights because they are just like our family. Loud, always getting on each other's nerves, lots of kids. It was like being back home. Yesterday was good. We had stake conference. We heard from a lot of wards and our mission president. Then after we got to go to a members house and have a really good dinner with the hirmana's. and we gave the guy (still learning his name) a blessing because he has Parkinson's kinda bad and isn't doing good. I know you want pictures and I'm sorry but a lot of what happens is so fast I can't get my iPad out in time but I will try better this week to do that for you. And I'm sorry it's not long this week. With all of our canceled plans it's just been a lot of knocking doors and trying to see less actives but they are not home. And thank you for the package. I got it and I love the blanket. It is really soft. And thanks for my crackers and the pictures you guys sent. Hope y'all are doing good. Love you

Hey mom. It's been good in my new area. It is a lot different from being in the way backwoods. It's still backwoods but not as much here. It's hard to learn everyone's names because I've never had to worry about that many names before. And it doesn't help that I was sick for two days (Saturday and Sunday). We had to go to a baptism for the hermanas and my comp preformed it and I was a witness. I felt miserable the whole time. Then we had to call it quits at around 2 ishbecause I couldn't take it anymore. We had to cancel our dinner because I wasn't doing good and I didn't want to get the family sick. Then we had a member bring us food and medicine. So it was good. Then yesterday was a lot better but not 100%. So I don't remember anyone's names. Our week was kind of normal. We gave service a few times and had dinners and lunches at members houses. Oh last week we were driving and saw a dead deer on the edge of the road and it looked fresh so we decided if our appointment fell through we'll go back for it. It did. So we went back and it looked good. It wasn't mangled or anything so we felt it and it was a bit stiff and we poked it with a knife just barely and it went ppppssssss releasing gas. It wasn't fresh. But if we find another one and it is fresh we're taking it and I will definitely tell you about it. But other than that it was a normal week. Sounds like everything is good there. You'll have to send me pics of the wedding. Tell pierce to email me so we can talk in the little time he's still a bachelor. Love y'all

Oh sorry forgot to tell you my favorite talk was by elder bednar. If he had known me. Talking about how we need to know the savior not just believe in him. And weekly quote.
"Please remember tomorrow, and all the days after that, that the Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them, who cherish Christlike virtues and strive to the best of their ability to acquire them. If you stumble in that pursuit, so does everyone; the Savior is there to help you keep going. If you fall, summon His strength. Call out like Alma, “O Jesus, … have mercy on me.” He will help you get back up. He will help you repent, repair, fix whatever you have to fix, and keep going. Soon enough you will have the success you seek."-elder holland

Hey mom. So my new area is good. It's gonna be a bit hard because it's a lot more city so I'm going to have a hard time learning the streets and where people live. My new comp is elder McClain. He's from Spanish fork. It was really good. We watched it at our church building. So not much to report besides me just learning the area and moving all my stuff in. I'll probably have some crazy stories for next week. Love you all.

Hey mom. So I'm not going to be able to talk long today and there's not much to talk about because I'm being transferred to Spring Hill I forgot my new comps name but he's already there and pikeville is getting whitewashed (being completely closed). So I'll let you know what my new address is next Monday and how things are. Sorry I don't have much. Love you all

Hey mom. It sounds like things are going well at home. It's awesome that tanner is in the mtc. Brycen and payson are growing up. I still only think of them as the little kids that can't think for themselves. Times are changing. That's not fair that Nate got to have his own senior parking spot and paint it. There was only senior areas for me. Not fair. I think it could help (referring to the new missionary link in LDS tools to help ward members and missionaries work together better). But I don't know yet because it's so new. It's starting to cool down a little bit. Not much. They are having the longest amount of days being in the 90s in like 50 years. I've had the opportunity to give quite a few priesthood blessings. We haven't been able to see Jennifer in a long time. No new investigators. The work is slow here. President is thinking about pulling missionaries out of our area so...... we'll see what he does. Sorry it's so short. Love you all

Wow that sounds like a fun trip. Hey we will only be gone for so long.
So look forward to when we come back. It makes me feel good to hear
how proud you are of me. So thank you mom. So this week there's
nothing really to say but next I will because we are going on 2

so short this week. Just know that I love you all and keep having fun.

Hey mom. No I didn't feel the earthquake it was too far away. It's
been good over here. Had a pretty normal week. I got a haircut after
like 3 months my hair was long. The haircut wasn't the best tho they
missed a part so I have some long hair on one side of my head so I'll
have to have blazzard get it. Sounds like you guys are going to have
fun in Disneyland. Sounds like things are going good back home. Man
it's weird to think I'll have a sister in law soon. And pierce not
loosing his cool? You sure? That's not possible. Haha just kidding.
That's good he's doing better. Teaching is going slow but we're trying
to do better. I'm feeling good. The tick bite is healing over and
getting better. Sorry there's not much this week. I'll try to do some
crazy stuff this week. Love you all.

the mish is going good. i dont know how j is doing because we havent been able to get ahold of her were going to see her this week. nothing yet. we have just been trying to keep up with the ones we got now and we havent been able to find any new ones yet becasue were out of miles and we cant ride our bikes to the areas we need to tract because they are too far away. we get fed quite a bit. probebly more than my last area. i dont know what the most common thing we make because we make so many different things like spaghetti burgers with home made fries burritos and many other things so i couldnt tell you. im doing good. things are getting easier for me just maybe a bit hard right now because i dont feel in tip top shape all the time and maybe because thats my leg healing or maybe becasue of the infection but im working through it. the only thing that gets hard is not getting discouraged. i love you too mom. keep me updated on whats going on. i love you all.

Hey mom. My week has been good. There's no need to apologize. It's
good to know what's going on. If anything I need to apologize because
I forgot your birthday! I'm so sorry. I'm bad with dates and I put
them is my phone or iPad so I remember and I hadn't got it in this
iPad yet. I'm so sorry. I sent you a card and you should be getting it
this week. We all need a little kick in the pants to get us going sometimes.  My
new companion is good. We get along really well. We're both into the
same kind of things like computers and minecraft and other things.
She's (his investigator) doing well. We taught her the word of wisdom last time and she
took it well and said she has a smoking problem and that she's
interested in quitting so we're gonna print out the church's stop
smoking program for her next time. My leg is getting better. It still
dosent look super good but it's healing and the swelling is going down
so that's good. Sorry this email is short. This week has mostly been
showing my new comp around and letting him get to know people and
moving stuff around in the apartment and stuff. I'll write more next
week. Love you all

Monday, August 15, 2016

Hey mom. My week was good. So there's not much to report till about
Friday. We just did the normal mission thing. Try to find new
investigators teach lessons and so on. (Before I forget there would be
only one investigator you could pray for. Her name is J she's
pretty much our only progressing investigator with a baptism date. She
is married and has 2 kids with one on the way. She works a lot at... because that's really the only place to work consistently
around here. It's hard on her because she's due in October I think so
they cut her hours and they need the money because her husband can't
work because he has bone cancer. She's way into the gospel and has
been talking to her friends and co workers about it. She reads from
the BOM whenever she can but its hard to find time with work and
taking care of her kids and sometimes other coworkers kids. She smokes
and we are going to teach her about the word of wisdom but haven't
been able to meet with her to teach it this week because she's had
work and babysitting but we will probably in our next lesson or the
plan of salvation. So pray for her. Now back to our regularly
scheduled email.) so on Friday nightwe went to talk to one of our
other investigators but they are not able to meet very much and can't
come to church because they pick tomatoes and peppers in the fields so
we have to drop them. Then as we were driving out of their trailer
park the person that owns it stopped us and kicked us out because we
were driving on the grass. Grass grows like a weed here and people
don't even need to plant it they just let it grow so that makes no
sense. And he said you like ruining the road? We have to drive on a
dirt road in the park because that's all it has and sense it rains a
lot it gets muddy and sense we have a truck we like to hit the puddles
but it dosent ruin it. So no sense there either but I think this guy
just dosent want us there and might have been a little drunk because
he said last time we were there he tried to stop us by chasing us with
his lawn mower. So it was kinda funny. Then when we got home we got a
call from Presidant in the truck. I'm like what did I do wrong? He
said he wanted to talk to maxwell and said that he's going to
Murfreesboro to be a zone leader. He got the worst deer in the
headlights look I have ever seen! It was so funny! So transfers is on
Tuesday and I'm going to stay here and get an old man (mission wise)
his name is elder blazzard I think is how you spell it. He is actually
maxwells trainer which is weird. And he has one transfer (6 weeks)
left till he goes home. So he is going to be trunky (getting ready to
be home or focusing on home a lot). So we'll see how that goes. Other
than that it's been a pretty normal week. I hope everything is going
well at home. (You might want to re send those pictures because I
didn't get them. And I can email back and forth still because we're a
white handbook only mission now and it says nothing against that in
it.) love you all.

tribulations are allowed to come into [your life] because of what
[you] are doing right.”-Elder Jörg Klebingat

P.S
You know how I got that tick my first couple weeks out? Well it left
an open wound that has healed over but hasn't gone away and it has
itched like crazy and the scab came off and i think it got infected.

Hey mom. How are things going there? What have y'all been up to? My
week was ok. Monday we went to a waterfall with some other
missionaries which was awesome. It's not like a standard Utah
waterfall hike where you hike 10 miles one way to see a trickle this
was less than a mile and the waterfall wasn't the biggest only because
it hasn't rained in a while but it was cool because there was a big
pool below it that was nice and cold. As missionaries were not allowed
to swim so we waded around to our knees but I wanted to swim so bad!!
Then I went on exchanges with elder Zunéga I think is how you spell
it? We just call him elder z. So I went to Winchester with him and had
a good time. Got to meet some bomb members and eat good food. And he's
way into Pokemon which is awesome because I like it and haven't done
any of it for years so it took me back to my childhood. And he was so
cool and gave me a TON of cards and few really good rare EX cards. And
me and him played a few games of it. Way fun. Then Wednesday we had
district meeting and switched back. Then Thursday Friday and Saturday
we had an open house at the church because we had the 127 yard sale.
The 127 yard sale is the biggest in the world. It's official days are
Thursday Friday Saturday and it runs the entire length of highway 127.
(About 500 something miles) so we thought we should have an open house
for the people that will be on the street to come learn more and have
free water. It was a flop. We had 3-4 people show up over the 3 days.
Then Sunday was a bit hard. It was fast Sunday which isn't bad but it
made it miserable because the AC dosent work in the church right now
and they're getting it fixed so it was hot in here. So that's my week.
Got to do some fun things which always makes the week go by faster.
It's so weird to think that I have a lot of family on missions. Before you know it Nate and dallin will be
gone as well. Thanks for all you do for me mom. Love you.

Weekly quote

“While we may look at the vast expanse of the universe and say, ‘What
is man in comparison to the glory of creation?’ God Himself said we
are the reason He created the universe! … This is a paradox of man:
compared to God, man is nothing; yet we are everything to God.”-Dieter
